A House Awakes

by Omar Yr 6

Every morning, as the sun rises,

a house awakes.

Windows open their eyes sleepy eyes,

Drains swallow soapy water,

Toilets noisily gargle and rinse,

Wardrobes flap their enormous ears,

Drawers stick their tongues out ,

Stairs groan wearily,

Kettles whistle a cheerful tune,

Toasters quickly clear their throats,

The house yawns,

and takes in the lovely, fresh morning air.

Every morning, when the sun rises,

a house awakes.
